Our company has carried out a number of research works to create new metal-ceramic materials with a certain set of characteristics. We used aluminum dodecaboride as the base. Our research led us to create a composite material AlB12AlN25. 

Tests were carried out on a plate of this composite with a size of 50×50 mm. High-strength aluminum was used as a substrate. The shot was fired from an AKM at a distance of 10 m. A bullet with a hardened core.

On fig. 1 shows a photo of the cermet layer.

As can be seen, under these conditions, the substrate did not undergo any noticeable deformation.

Application in different areas

A wide range of composite surface materials that can be used for a variety of machine parts such as pump seals, hydraulic pistons, petrochemical valves, shafts and bearings, food and packaging industry components, etc., which improve surface properties and increase the service life of parts and mechanisms.

Materials based on AlB12 have a number of obvious advantages, both physicochemical and economic. These materials are more technologically advanced, lighter, have better physical and chemical characteristics, are non-toxic, unlike Pb, and are much cheaper than W.

We can provide samples of all materials described for performance measurement and further research.
